SOB Broth is recommended for use in cultivation of recombinant strains of E. Coli. It is a nutritionally rich growth medium for use in the preparation and transformation of competent cells. Add 28 grams of Broth in l liter of distilled water. Heat gently to dissolve the medium completely. Dispense in tubes and sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes. • Casein Enzymic Hydrolysate: 20 g/l • Magnesium Sulfate: 2.4 g/l • Yeast Extract: 5 g/l • Potassium Chloride: 0.186 g/l • Sodium Chloride: 0.5 g/l • Final pH(25°C): 7.0+0.2
