S-100b Protein, Porcine Brain 的详细介绍

S-100b isoform composed of -subunits, purified from porcine brain. Elevated S-100b serum levels are markers of stroke and cerebral edema. The S-100 proteins are acidic Ca binding proteins, predominately found in glial cells. Evidence indicates that upon binding to Ca, S-100 proteins expose a hydrophobic domain to the solvent in a form similar to calmodulin. Also reported to regulate, within the cell walls, adenylate cyclase, aldolase activities, ATPase, microtubules, and protein phosphorylation. Product is not for animal treatment use, in vivo research or in other contact procedures involving livestock.
