Highly cell permeable purine compound that acts as a selective and ATP-competitive inhibitor of Cdks (IC=6.6M, 0.41M, 5.5M, 15M and 3.9M for Cdk1/cyclin B, Cdk2/cyclin A, Cdk4/cyclin D, Cdk5/p25 and Cdk7/cyclin H) and displays anti-cancer properties. Causes cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and induces apoptosis by activating caspases and downregulating survivin.
