For an effective isolation of a highly enriched mitochondrial fraction from the cytosol fraction of various mammalian cells including both apoptotic and nonapoptotic cells. The enriched mitochondrial and Cytosolic fractions can be used to study apoptosis and signal transduction pathways by detecting translocations of factors of interest between the two fractions by ELis a, WB or other assays. The core kit contains unique formulations of buffers and reagent that allow isolation of mitochondria and cytosol in two easy steps. No ultracentrifugations are required.
