A potent, cell-permeable, inhibitor of protein kinase C (PKC) that has been shown to selectively inhibit several PKC isozymes (IC =7 nM for PKC and PKC;6 nM for PKC; 10 nM for PKC; 60 nM for PKC). G6983 is reportedly not effective inhibitor of PKC (IC=20M), allowing for use to differentiate PKC from other PKC isozymes.
