Cefpodoxime free acid, antibiotic. Active against most Gram negative organisms, with exception Pseudomonas aeruginos. Cefpodoxime is used in antibiotic susceptibility testing for Neisseria Gonorrhea. Cefpodoxime is both a sensitive and specific indicator of an extended-spectrum β-lactamases in K. pneumoniae.
