*Please inquire the availability for this product. α±-Lipomycin is an unusual pentaenone tetramic acid first isolated from Streptomyces aureofaciens in 1972. Lipomycin has potent Gram positive antibacterial activity with no activity against fungi, including yeasts. The antibiotic activity is antagonized by lecithin and some sterols, implying alterations of the cell membrane.
