Protects cells from lipid peroxidation and DNA damage induced by reactive free radicals. Inhibits inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS; NOS II). Chemopreventive anticancer agent. Induces apoptosis in human cancer cell lines. Inhibits MAP kinase mediated signalling pathways. Inhibits angiogenesis. Inhibits telomerase and DNA methyltransferase. Anti-inflammatory agent.
