NAP peptide is a short neuropeptide fragment derived from Activity-Dependent Neuroprotective Protein (ADNP). This octopeptide may have neuroprotective effects against schizophrenia-related impairment, toxicity associated with beta-amyloid and other compounds, stabilizing microtuble breakdown which may suggest therapeutic strategies for Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and related diseases.
