Involvement in Disease: Properdin deficiency: Results in higher susceptibility to bacterial infections; especially to meningococcal infections. Three phenotypes have been reported: complete deficiency (type I), incomplete deficiency (type II), and dysfunction of properdin (type III).
Cellular Location: Secreted.
