Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody to CCK (V46)
Specificity: CCK (V46) pAb detects endogenous levels of CCK protein.
Applications: WB, IHC

Immunogen: Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 21-70 of Human CCK.

Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Product Form: 1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2.
Function: This peptide hormone induces gall bladder contraction and the release of pancreatic enzymes in the gut. Its function in the brain is not clear. Binding to CCK-A receptors stimulates amylase release from the pancreas, binding to CCK-B receptors stimulates gastric acid secretion.
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the gastrin/cholecystokinin family.
Post-Translational Modification: The precursor is cleaved by proteases to produce a number of active cholecystokinins.
Cellular Location: Secreted.
