Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Catalase (phospho-Y385)
Specificity: p-Catalase (Y385) pAb detects endogenous levels of Catalase protein only when phosphorylated at Tyr385

Immunogen: Synthetic phosphopeptide derived from human Catalase around the phosphorylation site of Tyrosine 385.

Function: Occurs in almost all aerobically respiring organisms and serves to protect cells from the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide. Promotes growth of cells including T-cells, B-cells, myeloid leukemia cells, melanoma cells, mastocytoma cells and normal and transformed fibroblast cells.
Involvement in Disease: Acatalasemia: A metabolic disorder characterized by a total or near total loss of catalase activity in red cells. It is often associated with ulcerating oral lesions.
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the catalase family.
Post-Translational Modification: The N-terminus is blocked.
Cellular Location: Peroxisome.
