Function: Regulator which is able to repress transcription, possibly via its interaction with a multiprotein chromatin remodeling complex that modifies the chromatin. As part of a histone H3-specific methyltransferase complex may mediate ligand-dependent transcriptional activation by nuclear hormone receptors.
Post-Translational Modification: O-glycosylated during cytokinesis at sites identical or close to phosphorylation sites, this interferes with the phosphorylation status.
Cellular Location: Nucleus.

Localizes to DNA damage markers in irradiated cells, suggesting that it participates in DNA repair process.
