Immunogen: Raised against a 15 amino acid peptide from near the amino terminus of human BIK.
Host: Rabbit

Formulation: Supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
Storage: Can be stored at -20˚C, stable for one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
Function: Accelerates programmed cell death. Binding to the apoptosis repressors Bcl-X(L), BHRF1 or Bcl-2 suppresses this death-promoting activity.
Tissue Specificity: Expressed in testis, kidney, liver, lung and heart.
Post-Translational Modification: Proteolytically cleaved by RHBDL4/RHBDD1. RHBDL4/RHBDD1-induced cleavage is a necessary step prior its degradation by the proteosome-dependent mechanism (By similarity).
Cellular Location: Endomembrane system. Mitochondrion membrane.
