Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody to BIK (Phospho-Thr33)
Specificity: The antibody detects endogenous levels of BIK only when phosphorylated at threonine 33.
Applications: WB, IHC
Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of threonine 33 (G-M-T(p)-D-S) derived from Human BIK.

Purification: Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic phosphopeptide and KLH conjugates. Antibodies were purified by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. Non-phospho specific antibodies were removed by chromatogramphy using non-phosphopeptide.
Concentration: 1.0mg / ml
Formulation: Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Storage: Store at -20?C
Function: Accelerates programmed cell death. Association to the apoptosis repressors Bcl-X(L), BHRF1, Bcl-2 or its adenovirus homolog E1B 19k protein suppresses this death-promoting activity. Does not interact with BAX.
Post-Translational Modification: Proteolytically cleaved by RHBDL4/RHBDD1. RHBDL4/RHBDD1-induced cleavage is a necessary step prior its degradation by the proteosome-dependent mechanism.
Cellular Location: Endomembrane system. Mitochondrion membrane.
