Immunogen: Raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 44 to 59 of human BACE2.

Storage: Can be stored at -20?C, stable for one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
Function: Responsible for the proteolytic processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP). Cleaves APP, between residues 690 and 691, leading to the generation and extracellular release of beta-cleaved soluble APP, and a corresponding cell-associated C-terminal fragment which is later released by gamma-secretase. It has also been shown that it can cleave APP between residues 671 and 672 (By similarity).
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the peptidase A1 family.
Post-Translational Modification: Undergoes autoproteolytic cleavage.
