Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody to SF1 (Ab-82)
Specificity: The antibody detects endogenous levels of total SF1 protein.
Applications: WB, IHC, IF

Immunogen: Synthesized non-phosphopeptide derived from human SF1 around the phosphorylation site of serine 82 (S-P-S(p)-P-E).

Purification: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Concentration: 1.0mg / ml
Formulation: Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Storage: Store at -20?C
Function: Necessary for the ATP-dependent first step of spliceosome assembly. Binds to the intron branch point sequence (BPS) 5'-UACUAAC-3' of the pre-mRNA. May act as transcription repressor.
Tissue Specificity: Detected in lung, ovary, adrenal gland, colon, kidney, muscle, pancreas, thyroid, placenta, brain, liver and heart.
Sequence Similarities: Belongs to the BBP/SF1 family.
Post-Translational Modification: Phosphorylation on Ser-20 interferes with U2AF2 binding and spliceosome assembly. Isoform 6 is phosphorylated on Ser-463.
Cellular Location: Nucleus.
