Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody to ACCα (K86)
Specificity: ACCα (H74) pAb detects endogenous levels of ACCα protein.
Applications: WB, IHC

Immunogen: Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 50-100 of Human ACCα.

Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Product Form: 1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2.
Function: Catalyzes the rate-limiting reaction in the biogenesis of long-chain fatty acids. Carries out three functions: biotin carboxyl carrier protein, biotin carboxylase and carboxyltransferase.
Tissue Specificity: Expressed in brain, placental, skeletal muscle, renal, pancreatic and adipose tissues; expressed at low level in pulmonary tissue; not detected in the liver.
Involvement in Disease: Acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 deficiency: An inborn error of de novo fatty acid synthesis associated with severe brain damage, persistent myopathy and poor growth.
Post-Translational Modification: Phosphorylation on Ser-1263 is required for interaction with BRCA1.
Cellular Location: Cytoplasm.
