Description: Chicken polyclonal antibody to NF-M.
Applications: WB, ICC/IF, IHC
Dilutions: WB: 1:5,000 for neural tissue extracts, and 1:1,000 for cells. IF/IHC: 1:1,000.

Immunogen: C-terminal extension of rat NF-M, the so-called KE segment, was expressed in bacteria and purified from inclusion bodies by dissolving in 6M urea followed by preparative gel electrophoresis.

Post-Translational Modification: There are a number of repeats of the tripeptide K-S-P, NFM is phosphorylated on a number of the serines in this motif. It is thought that phosphorylation of NFM results in the formation of interfilament cross bridges that are important in the maintenance of axonal caliber.
