Description abm’s Sheilds and Sang M3 Insect Medium for insect cell culture is based on the formulation of D-22 Insect Medium in absence of chloride salts and potassium bicarbonate, and with the addition of potassium and sodium ions in glutamate salts. It is used to propagate and maintain the growth of various Drosophila-derived cell lines.

Sheilds and Sang M3 Insect Medium is offered as a basal, serum and antibiotic-free formula to provide the end user flexibility of further supplement and serum addition if required. It is recommended to supplement with 10% fetal bovine serum (TM999-500).
Appearance(Turbidity) Off-white to creamish white, homogenous powder.

pH 5.5-6.1 (without Sodium Bicarbonate)
5.8-6.4 (with Sodium Bicarbonate)
Osmolality 320-360 mOsm/Kg (without Sodium Bicarbonate)

Endotoxin Level ≤ 5 EU/ml
Storage Store at 2-8°C away from bright light.
