Description
Immortalized Mouse CD81−/− Macrophage Cells (ASD1) (Cat. No. T0138) is established from the long bones of CD81 -/- mice, which were immortalized with the SV40 large T antigen and underwent limiting dilution cloning. Immortalized Mouse CD81+/− Macrophage Cells (2BSD1.10) was generated from transfecting the ASD1 cells with the pCDNA3.1/Hygro vector carrying the CD81 gene. The cell line offers users the ability to conduct experiments with a reliable source of immortal cells
in vitro
. The CD81 gene has associations with malignancies as it is localized within the tumor-suppressor gene region. Hence valuable for studies in regards to cancer.
Procedure Overview

Propagation
Use of PriCoat™ T25 Flasks (G299) or Applied Cell Extracellular Matrix (G422) is required for cell adhesion to the culture vessels. Grow cells in ECM-coated culture vessels with the following conditions.
The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available in
abm
, Cat. No. TM003. To make the completed growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (TM999) to final concentration of 6%, 6% Nu-Serum (Corning
™
355100), and 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin (G255). Atmosphere: air: 95%, CO₂: 5%; Temperature: 37.0°C.
