111 型小型IEF电泳槽简化了分析型琼脂糖或聚丙烯 酰胺IEF凝胶的电泳过程。涂有凝胶支持膜的玻璃板倒置 于灌胶盘0.4 mm 厚的间隔条上，凝胶溶液可由板下吸 入。凝胶制好后，加入样品，凝胶面朝下置于石墨电极 上。由于凝胶直接置于电极上，因此无需使用电泳缓冲 液。由于落下的水滴无法接触凝胶表面，因此也同时防 止了由冷凝水引起的电泳结果变形。
使用111 型小型IEF 电泳槽可获得很好的分辨率。 样品加入含有2% Bio-Lyte 3/10 两性电解质的5% 聚丙烯酰胺凝胶上，100 V 聚焦15 min，200 V 聚 焦15 min，450 V 聚焦1 hr。样品：泳道1 和 10； Bio-Rad IEF 标准品；泳道2-5：辣根过氧化物 酶稀释液；泳道6-9：日本水噬鱼蛇毒素的稀释液。

Bio-Lyte 两性电解质
Bio-Lyte 两性电解质载体为混合透明水溶液，具有很宽跨度范围的等电点，能产生可重复的线性pH 梯度。宽跨度Bio-Lyte 3/10 两性电解质的工作pH 跨度范围为3.5-9.5。窄跨度两性电解质在小pH 跨度范围内进一步分离复 杂混合体，为细微pI 值差别的蛋白质提供更好的分离。Bio-Lyte 两性电解质也可作为固定pH 梯度（IPG）缓冲液。 有关即用型Bio-Lyte IPG 缓冲液。
Bio-Lyte 3/10、3/5 和8/10 两性电解质把酸性末端和碱性末端扩大到约3.5 和9.5 pH 单位。其它范围都在它 们指定跨度的0.1-0.2 pH 单位内。
